What Kind of Game Is It?
Watercolors Sink Beneath the Surface is a nostalgic pixel-art point-and-click adventure.
It doubles as a quiet journey across Narumi Island, a place where nothing remains but the old high school.
As they revisit the island, the two girls search through abandoned items to find inspiration for a watercolor painting based on their school days.

The Mystery of Narumi Island
One year ago, Narumi City — once thriving on its fishing industry — sank beneath the sea due to a sudden and unexplained rise in sea levels.
The students who attended Narumi High School, built atop a tall hill, were forced to evacuate. Now, only the deserted and decaying school remains.
“Narumi Island” is not the island’s official name. It was a spontaneous name Mio came up with. Surely, it must have a proper name...
Perhaps by seeing the two girls’ journey through to the end, the truth behind that name will come to light.
